According to Automotive news, employees or owners of auto dealerships are letting drug trafficking happen within the company. It seems that “parts is parts” takes on an entirely different meaning when boxes of wiper blades headed for the parts department consists of bricks of marijuana.
Drug traffic ring found in a Honda/Volkswagen dealership in Maryland
DealershipForum.com reports that $ 1.6 million, or 120 pounds of marijuana was found in a Maryland Honda/Volkswagen dealership. One employee within the parts department was paid $ 100 per illegal delivery. He was in charge of passing this to the dealer. According to Automotive News, 10 pound blocks of marijuana were found in a box of wiper blades at a Detroit area Mopar Parts Distribution Center recently. A Florida auto dealership was getting used by Richard Carlson, who owns Nova Motor Group, as a “massive drug trafficking business,” reports Fox 29 WFLX of Hollywood, Fla.. Apparently Carlson stashed cocaine in SUVs which were shipped to Sweden. In Abington, Massachusetts, a couple partners working with Duane Glenn in a Midway Motors selling cocaine. They also had been selling marijuana.
