Why Chely Wright has chosen to come out
Coming out is a very personal decision — so why is Chely Wright choosing to make it so public? Originally, Chely Wright has said that she “didn’t want to be the first” country star to come out of the closet. She has changed her tune, though, including a long explanation of how the traditionally conservative country music scene encouraged her to keep her sexuality secret. While nobody is sure how country music fans will react to Chely Wright’s coming out, it is certain that Chely Wright has decided to live her life openly.
